Dr Michael Kissin

Dr Michael Kissin is Director of Engineering at WiTricity New Zealand Ltd. 

After gaining his PhD from the University of Auckland in 2009, Michael joined HaloIPT as a design engineer, working to commercialize the wireless charging technology that he helped to develop at the university.

HaloIPT was acquired by Qualcomm in 2011, and Michael became Director of Engineering with a focus on future technology. At Qualcomm, he led the design and build of the first large scale dynamic wireless charging system for passenger vehicles, and was granted more than 50 U.S. patents.

Michael’s current focus is the development and standardization of high power (75 kW+) wireless charging systems for heavy vehicles.
