Tui Kaumoana (Waikato, Ngāti Maniapoto, Te Āti Awa)
Ko Pirongia tōku Maunga, ko Kāwhia tōku Moana, ko Tainui tōku Waka. Waikato taniwha rau. He piko, he taniwha, he piko he taniwha.
UniServices is the commercial arm of Waipapa Taumata Rau, The University of Auckland. As the Kaiārahi, Tui provides a Māori lens across the entire organisation to build a culturally safe environment for all. Recent highlights have included the development of the Māori intellectual property policy to use as guidance when commercialising to protect Māori ideas or Māori taonga. For the previous two years, Tui has been working towards creating a Māori investment committee and has recently introduced youth support to turn this idea into fruition to launch before Matariki 2023 (The Māori new year).
Tui holds an MBA from UoA and a postgraduate diploma in Māori Business Development. She previously worked in corporate and protocol roles with Waikato Tainui and the Office of the Kiingitanga, which has really enhanced her passion for positive Māori outcomes.
